One hundred airmen and women successfully graduated today having taken studies in purchasing and supply, accountancy and a senior non-commissioned officers (NCO) management course at the School of Academic and Staff Training at Manyame Airbase.
The officers graduated with national certificates and diplomas in Purchasing and supply, national certificates in accountancy and a senior non-commissioned officers management course.
The National Diploma and certificate courses are a joint effort with the Higher Examinations Council while the senior NCO’s management course is an internal programme for intermediate supervisors.
Air Lieutenant Thandiwe Vhundla who graduated with a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply said the experience gathered during the programme has improved her analytical skills and this will improve her application on the job.
Master Sergeant Evelyn Kwaramba from Thornbill Airforce Base said the senior NCO’s management course has improved her appreciation of basic management skills which will help in the supervision of subordinates.
The Guest of honour at the event who is also the Director General Operations in the AFZ, Air Commodore Biltim Chingono commended the graduands for their success and said the air force places value on staff development through academic and professional training as this helps the force maintain its reputable standards.
