Biography

Ingrid Sinclair was born in 1948, an English citizen, after years of involvement with Chimurenga (the Zimbabwean liberation movement), she became a citizen of Zimbabwe

Ingrid Sinclair works as a producer and filmmaker. Her first feature film Flame (1996) tells the stories of two women who joined the Liberation Army to fight for Zimbabwe’s independence. This film receives awards and standing ovations all over the world.

She has produced several documentaries: Bird from another world , which evokes the work of Zimbabwean sculptors; And Biopiracy: Who Owns Life? (Biopiracy: Who Has Life?). This documentary tells how some WTO patents exploit the genetic material provided by farmers in India and traditional healers in Zimbabwe. His short film, Riches , tells the story of a single mother who escapes apartheid in South Africa while fleeing to Zimbabwe.
