Queen of Peace Orphanage receive goods

Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Cde Owen Ncube handed over an assortment of goods worth $30 000 from the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa to Queen of Peace Orphanage in Gweru.

Children at the Queen of Peace Orphanage were left counting their blessings when First Lady donated 20 beds, 100 blankets, three wheel chairs and an assortment of groceries.

Handing over the donation, Minister Ncube expressed gratitude on behalf of the First Lady who is also the patron of the orphanage to NetOne for availing the goods which will bring comfort to the children.

Lazarus Muchenje NetOne Chief Executive Officer promised to initiate sustainable projects that will allow the institution to be less dependent on donors.

Queen of Peace was established in 2006 with its main goal being to reduce vulnerability of children with intellectual disabilities and special needs.

The institution houses 40 orphans and for its operations it has heavily depended on volunteers and donations from well-wishers.
