GLASGOW — Scottish Premiership football side Dundee are lining up a move for Leyton Orient goal-scoring machine Macauley Bonne (pictured right).
SunSport understands Dens Park boss Neil McCann wants the 22-year-old as part of his squad for next season.
Bonne scored 25 goals for the Os last season and is one of the hottest properties in the National League.
He has also been targeted by Shrewsbury, Portsmouth and Burton Albion.
The English-born Zimbabwe international moved to Orient from Colchester last summer and still has 12 months left on his contract, so will command a fee.
McCann bemoaned his side’s lack of killer instinct on several occasions last season and is on the hunt for a forward with a scoring pedigree.
Bonne fits that bill, but Orient are keen to hand him a new deal.
If they can’t agree an extension then they may be prepared to cash in. But they are likely to hold out in the hope of a bidding war.
Dundee have money in the bank from the sale of Jack Hendry to Celtic in January and will back McCann to strengthen his squad.
