Zim’s Islamic community condemns religious conflicts

Religious conflicts have been condemned by the Islamic community in Zimbabwe during the commemoration to mark the anniversary birth of Islamist leader Imam Ali in the capital.

Speaking on the sidelines of the commemorations this Monday (today) in the capital, cultural councillor of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr Mohsen Shojakani says in order to achieve world peace, different religious beliefs and practices should be tolerated and not lead to any conflicts.

Recently dozens of Christians were killed in Egypt following an attack on two Coptic Churches in different cities of the country.

Muslims from various parts of the world gather annually on the 13th day of Rajab which falls on the 11th of April this year to commemorate the birth of Imam Ali whose influence has been instrumental throughout Islamic history.
