GREY-HAIRED Channel 4 newsreader Jon Snow has wed a Zimbabwe-born academic 27 years his junior.
The 62-year-old, who has never been married before, has previously said that he was wary of taking the commitment of matrimony owing to his fear of claustrophobic relationships.
But he finally took the oath with Precious Lunga, 35, who is an epidemiologist with the Medical Research Council, specialising in HIV prevention in Africa.
The reception was held on a beach on the exclusive Caribbean island of Mustique, where the couple stayed in an £800-a-night hotel.
Snow had been together with human rights lawyer Madeleine Colvin – who is the mother of his daughters Leila, 27, and Freya, 24 – for the same number of years as Lunga has been alive, but the pair split in 2007.
Clergyman’s son Snow was also famously engaged to former newsreader Anna Ford in the late 70s.
