Bosso bask in glory

THE celebrations are still going on in the City of Kings after Highlanders’ sensational 3-0 destruction of Dynamos in a Castle Lager Premiership match at Barbourfields on Sunday.

Madinda Ndlovu’s men reserved their best performance for the showdown against their biggest rivals and handed them an embarrassing defeat in the Battle of Zimbabwe.

Former radio personality, Ezra “Tshisa” Sibanda, who is a lifelong Bosso fan, said hammering DeMbare felt as good as winning the league championship.

“Nothing is fulfilling as Highlanders beating Dynamos,” he tweeted.

“Bosso floored DeMbare 3 nil & put them to bed so early on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

“Madinda, continue rebuilding, you not in any way under pressure to win the league. Clobbering DeMbare is as good as winning the title.”

Bosso stand-in skipper Gabriel Nyoni, who scored one goal and provided the assist for the other, celebrated his 27th birthday in style.

“Scored and assisted yet again. This time on my birthday and against Dynamos,” he tweeted.

“Like retweet and help me celebrate my day in style #Battle of Zimbabwe has been won.”

Bosso also took to Twitter to thank the forward.

“We feel lucky to have you as our player! Best wishes on your special day, hope it will bring to you lots of fantastic moments.

“Thank you for giving our team such a vast lift! We believe that together we will have even greater achievements in the future.”

Meanwhile, former Warriors defensive midfielder Devon Chafa has completed his move to defending league champions FC Platinum for an undisclosed fee, the club have revealed.

The 27-year-old midfielder recently terminated his contract with Zambian club Buildcon following a frustrating stay across the Zambezi.

He left the ambitious Zambians together with compatriots Patson Jaure and former FC Platinum son Nqobizitha Masuku.

Chafa impressed Norman Mapeza after training with the team for two weeks in Zvishavane and the former Dynamos midfielder is immediately available for selection for their next game against Black Rhinos tomorrow.

Club spokesperson Chido Chizondo confirmed the latest developments, but refused to give finer details concerning the player’s contract.

“Devon is now part of us, he has signed a contract with us and is now our player,” she said.

“He has been training with the team recently and the technical department is impressed with his abilities.

“All the necessary paperwork is now in place and is available for selection for our next league game,” said Chizondo.

The Zvishavane miners have a four-point advantage at the top and the arrival of the experienced midfield hardman will help them consolidate their position at the summit.

He will compete with likes Winston Mhango for the central midfield combination which also features Edwin Madhanhanga.
