Communities urged to use electricity for developmental purposes

The people of Maramba Pfungwe constituency in Uzumba-Maramba-Pfungwe (UMP) have been urged to utilise the rural electrification programme for developmental purposes.

Addressing villagers and other stakeholders at the commissioning of electricity at Mungari Primary School in UMP, Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Retired Brigadier General Ambrose Mutinhiri and the area’s legislator, Cde Washington Musvaire said there is need for people of the area to take advantage of the rural electrification programme for developmental purposes.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Power Development, Cde Tsitsi Muzenda said the government appreciates the role electricity plays in community development.

Through the rural electrification project power was installed at Jamari and Dindi Primary Schools as well as at Dindi Clinic.
