Domestic T20 to Bring Curtain Down

A week of high adrenalin cricket action will bring the curtain down on the 2018-19 season as the country’s four franchise square up for honours in the Domestic T20 Competition beginning today at Old Hararians. Logan Cup champions Mountaineers will get the ball rolling against Rhinos before Eagles and Tuskers, who met in Saturday’s Pro50 Championship final, resume their rivalry in the afternoon game.

Eagles, who have been doing well under Stuart Matsikenyeri, are fresh from winning the Pro50 championship for an unprecedented fifth time.

They will take on Mountaineers in the first game of the day tomorrow, before Tuskers and Rhinos lock horns in the afternoon. Tuskers and Eagles will then meet again as Rhinos face Mountaineers in the last double-header at Old Hararians on Wednesday.

Action will then move to Harare Sports Club on Thursday where Rhinos and Eagles will clash in the morning before Mountaineers and Tuskers clash in the afternoon.

The Friday morning game will pit Rhinos against Tuskers, while Mountaineers and Eagles will meet in the second match of the day. The round-robin will conclude on Saturday with Tuskers versus Mountaineers first, while Eagles will face Rhinos later.

The T20 tournament will end on Sunday, with the third-place playoff taking place first before the top two sides meet in the final at Harare Sports Club.

The morning matches are scheduled to start at 0930 hours and the afternoon games at 1400 hours.
