Equities closes on a high

The local bourse’s mainstream industrial index closed the week on a high note adding 0.34 to close at 137.47 as giant insurer Old Mutual led the risers with a $0, 0258 gain to trade at $3, 5041.

Also on the up was ZBFH which advanced by a further $0, 0130 to settle at $0, 1050 while conglomerate Innscor was up by $0, 0112 to $0, 4500 and SeedCo was $0, 0019 stronger at $0, 9350.

CFI was the only counter trading in the negative losing $0, 0104 to close at $0, 1096.

Giant beverages maker Delta, Fidelity Life, OK Zim and Powerspeed traded unchanged at $0, 8600, $0, 1000, $0, 0600 and $0, 0210 respectively.

On a week-on-week basis, the industrial index added 2.11 (or 1, 56 percent).

The mining index shed 2.47 to settle at 53.59 as Bindura lost $0, 0030 to trade at $0, 0300 while Hwange eased $0, 0010 to end at $0, 0290.

Falgold and RioZim remained unchanged at previous trading levels of $0, 0100 and $0, 3360 respectively.

Week-on-week, the mining index lost 0.07 (or 0, 13 percent)
