Exercise caution, drivers urged

The government has implored all road users to exercise caution and be conversant with road rules as safety can only be achieved through a collective effort by all road users.

This comes as the North Park Traffic Training Centre in Bulawayo has been given a facelift with students, cyclists and the community set to learn the new SADC traffic regulations in a move set to reduce road traffic accidents on the country’s roads.

Officiating at the handover ceremony of the project to the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ), the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Dr Joram Gumbo said observing road rules is a mandatory duty of every citizen.

Stakeholders who graced the commissioning ceremony applauded the government and its development partners for coming ups with the initiative which they said is key in raising awareness on road rules among citizens.

The commissioning ceremony also witnessed the TSCZ donating 15 bicycles, while more similar centres are expected to be constructed across the country.
