Zimbabwe Seeks Injection of Yuan From Chinese Central Bank

(Bloomberg) — Country to approach Chinese central bank seeking injection of yuan into its multi-currency economy, Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa says by phone from capital, Harare.

  • “The yuan is already one of the currencies that’s legal tender in Zimbabwe, but it hasn’t proved popular. This year we’ll ask the Chinese central bank to inject yuan into circulation in the country”
  • Chinamasa didn’t say how much govt would seek from China
