Bishop B. Manjoro Dunamis
Today, in this instalment, I will be sharing with you on the importance of an intercessor in the community, at home and the country at large.
Ezekiel 22v30-31 reads: “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.”
God is looking for advocates who can do a good deed by praying on other people’s behalf. Your prayer can save souls from destruction. Remember it’s not in every case that a lawyer stands for an innocent person. Sometimes the person will be guilty, but due to facts presented by the advocate, the judge or magistrate may be lenient.
My friend stand in the gap for other people’s lives. God needs an intercessor! He honours and hears intercessors, so don’t take your prayers lightly.
Our God is Lord and Almighty, but he gave you authority to rule the earth, hence, He needs your permission to act here on earth. The intercessor, the advocate gives him that right by praying.
Look at Daniel, he stood on behalf of the Israelites and reminded God that the 70 years of bondage had passed. The supplication he made saved the nation. You too can do the same and deliver your family from bondage through prayer.
These are the last days; the enemy is roaring like a lion looking for whom to devour and there is an urgent need for people who fast and stand for what is right. Yes, the church might be growing, but intercessors are needed to remind the Father of His word and promises.
If you want to be a good intercessor then gossiping and negative talk should be out of bounce for you, because that blocks your prayers. During intercession many people pray for their families, but keep in mind that a lawyer stands for someone else in court. You must not be selfish, take someone’s burden as your own and fight.
Paul wrote to the Church that they should pray for him also. Ladies and gentlemen, pray for the men and women of God in your lives. Encourage them too. When you meet for prayers, first and foremost you must repent. Whatever you may have done wrong, confess and pray for each other. Make sure you are of one accord.
If you are reading this article, and you are in an unhappy relationship due to unending quarrels, sometimes you don’t need counsel0ling, but to pray together. An intercessor must know what is in the mind of God before He says it. Before the Lord removes the hedge around a beloved playing with fire, you must know it and tell the person to change his ways.
Meeting, speaking in tongues, but without hearing God’s word, you go nowhere. He is always speaking to us in different ways and He is nearer to a person who is prayerful and stands on the gap for others. Reside close to Him such that wherever you go, God is there with you.
Let’s grow to maturity and hear the word of God.
Mark 10v27 says, “For with God all things are possible.’’
