Zimbabwe Military Academy outgoing commandant, Colonel Steven Gwekwerere has praised business and farming communities around Gweru for the support they give to officers at the prestigious military academy.
Speaking at the handover parade of the Zimbabwe Military Academy command to incoming Colonel Arnold Gumbo, Colonel Gwekwerere expressed gratitude to the Gweru community especially the business and farming communities for their support to officers at the military academy that has resulted in many successes in training of officers.
He said the cordial relations between the army and the community has yielded positive results that have been mutually beneficial to both sides.
In coming commandant, Colonel Gumbo reaffirmed his commitment to creating a conducive environment at the academy for the attainment of the mission and vision of the institution.
The official handover and takeover parade was witnessed by the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Chief of Staff, Major General Trust Mugoba who was representing the army headquarters.
