ZIMBABWE Republic Police bodybuilders are expected to pull a surprise at tomorrow’s National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness Mr and Ms Novice competition at Pro Fitness Gym in the capital.
The uniformed forces are expected to bring at least five athletes for the first major event of the year.
They include Simbarashe Nyamukondiwa and Ephraim Makiya.
Gift Katena won the Mr Novice title while Selina Manuel was crowned Ms Novice last year.
Mr and Ms Novice events will have several bodybuilding and fitness divisions, six power-lifting divisions and two strength and fitness challenge divisions.
NFZBBF spokesperson, Quiet Shingai, said more than 40 bodybuilders and fitness fanatics from Midlands, Bulawayo, Mashonaland West, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland Central, Manicaland, Masvingo and Harare provinces will take part in the event.
ZRP coach and respected national judge, Alec Jaure, said they will field athletes for the big event.
“We are preparing and we are likely to bring in five or six contestants for the competition this year.”
