Cristiano Ronaldo stunned staff at a Greek resort by leaving a huge £17 850 tip after being impressed by their service while on holiday with his family.
After Portugal’s exit from the 2018 Soccer World Cup the 33-year-old headed to the Costa Navarino resort in the Pelopnnese region of Greece with family and friends. Reports suggest that Ronaldo gifted the staff of the resort with the mega tip as a thank you before heading to Turin for his unveiling as a Juventus player. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner asked hotel management to split the figure equally among all staff.
Ronaldo had been on holiday in the Mediterranean with his family following Portugal’s exit from the World Cup at the hands of Uruguay.
He posted pictures on Instagram of himself soaking up the sun with partner Georgina Rodriguez and his son, along with snaps sitting out for dinner with friends. He left to Italy in order to complete his £100million move to Serie A side Juventus, but not before making an incredible gesture.
Ronaldo was reportedly so impressed by the service he received that he could not leave without giving something back. The 33-year-old asked that the five-figure sum be shared among all staff in the resort.
