Sanyamandwe reassures DeMbare family

DYNAMOS president Solomon Sanyamandwe has assured the Glamour Boys stakeholders that he has taken huge steps to bring lasting stability at the country’s biggest football club.

The Harare giants will travel to Bulawayo to fulfil their outstanding fixture against Bosso on Sunday without coach Lloyd Mutasa, who is on national duty.

The two giants met in the President Mnangagwa Inauguration Cup at the National Sports Stadium recently, with DeMbare beating a weakened Bosso 2-0.

While he is happy with the turnaround in fortunes by the team, who have now gone for three matches without defeat, Sanyamandwe said the bigger picture was to rebuild the Dynamos brand.

“I would like to assure the legion of fans, corporate parties, media and critical stakeholders that the club is currently seized with repositioning its brand,” said Sanyamandwe in a statement.

“Dynamos is a continental powerhouse, as evidenced by our history since 1963, and as such, no efforts shall be spared to ensure that the biggest club in Zimbabwe reclaims its position as the pacesetter for professionalism, glamour and excellence.

“Structural changes are underway to re-engineer the club’s fortunes in a bid to make Dynamos Football Club one of the best teams in Africa.

“The changes may appear radical, but given the business as usual culture, which some of our colleagues had introduced to the club, nothing short of a robust adjustment will do the club any good.

“We are all children of the club and no-one is bigger than the institution. We must put Dynamos first before all else.

“As the new president of Dynamos, I shall leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all the ingredients of good corporate governance are put together and that all those mandated to run the affairs of the club are servant leaders.”

Sanyamandwe last week fired the club’s secretary-general Webster Marechera and treasurer Moses Chikwairo following a crippling strike by players over winning bonuses and allowances.

The duo was accused of allegedly misappropriating funds meant for the welfare of the players.

“Teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and visionary leadership shall be the hallmark of the club’s leadership.

“Dynamos is poised for greater and exciting times,’’ said Sanyamandwe.

“We shall over the next three years strive to lure back to the stadium multitudes of fans, and this shall be possible through offering exciting and fan-driven products and services before, during and after the club’s home and away games.

“We shall go the extra mile in attracting more corporate sponsorship so that the club is able to service its commitments.

“I would like to assure the fans and the corporate world that the club shall soon be rolling out our masterplan, which shall revolve around good management, finance, marketing, youth development, infrastructural development, awards, international partnerships, high-performance and fan activation.

“I would also want to appeal to the fans to rally behind the club’s revival campaign as it takes all members of the family of Dynamos to make Dynamos a brand of choice for prosperity.’’

DeMbare have been buoyed by the availability of Kingston Nkhatha for the Bosso clash after the former Warriors man got his Reverse International Clearance.
