Minister of health Aaron Motsoaledi revealed on Thursday afternoon that unprotected sex amongst other things , is the leading cause of pregnancies in South Africa.
Motshaoledi was addressing journalists concerning the death of 36 patients who were part of nearly 2000 patients transferred to NGOs and hospitals across the province after the department terminated its contract with Esidimeni.
Asked if he knows of any other causes of unplanned pregnancies, Minister Motshoaledi said ,”No, I do not know of any. But the department is working around the clock on the matter.”
