“ZANU-PF is dead and MDC will win 2018 election.”- Tsvangirai

The leader of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Morgan Tsvangirai says the ruling Zanu-PF will not survive the purge that has claimed the scalp of former Vice President Joice Mujuru and her allies including former party secretary for administration, Didymus Mutasa, 9 party chairpersons and seven cabinet ministers and a deputy minister.

The MDC-T leader took a swipe at Presdient Robert Mugabe saying he has turned Zanu-PF into a family dynasty. 

But the MDC-T party has had deep fissures resulting in a second split since its formation in 1999. 

Tsvangirai told VOA Studio 7’s Blessing Zulu in an exclusive interview that after his party’s congress he is now pushing for political reforms with a fresh mandate.

Beleaguered Mutasa also told Studio 7 that he is still in India where his wife is receiving medical attention.

The government-controlled Herald newspaper had reported that Mutasa was seeking political asylum In South Africa.

President Mugabe had a mini-cabinet reshuffle and appointing former Vice President Mujuru’s rival, Emmerson Mnangagwa, and Phekelezela Mphoko as vice presidents.
