#Zimbabwe must use courts to bring change they want to see – child marriage banned #twimbos #263chat

Today we are very happy with the fight that Advocate Tendai Biti fought on behalf of the underage girls who are getting married before age of 18.

This is Progress.
Congratulations to Tendai Biti for staging such a brave fight in defence of the girl child and women in Zimbabwe. History has been made

This should be a lesson for all of Zimbabweans as we continue to fight for our rights.

To change the system, you just dont blabbler and fight on Facebook, but you take the legal route.

If we continue to pool our resources and allocate them to competent lawyers such as Tendai Biti to fight for our rights, Zimbabwe will be in a better place. It does not matter how many marches we make, how many protests we conduct – the power is in the law. Look, after generations of young girls getting married of to old men, now it is illegal and anyone who does this can go to jail. Before, everyone knew it was not right for a 10 year old girl to marry a 70 year old man, but our laws were not clear on whether it was illegal.

Let’s use all our resources and allocate them towards lawyers to fight the regime. Our courts may not be perfect, but they are still functional.

Instead of complaining, let’s arm ourselves through lawyers, and lawyers will fight till the end – al the way up to the highest court in Zimbabwe – the constitutional court.

It’s 2016, protests have failed, let’s use the legal route to change Zimbabwe

It’s possible.
