Zimbabwe pastor commits suicide on Facebook live over mystery woman
A popular pastor and Gospel musician in Zimbabwe committed suicide because of a mysterious woman and broadcasted the incident on Facebook Live.
Apostolic Faith Mission junior pastor Richard Nhika ended his life last January because of a mystery woman he called Nomatter. The troubled pastor and musician, who streamed the whole incident live on Facebook, ingested a substance believed to be cotton pesticide, The Chronicle details.
In the said video, Nhika professed his love for a woman identified only as Nomatter and ranted about being hurt. He also blamed the woman for what he was about to do, The Christian Post relays.
“Take care and I hope God blesses you. Thank you for trying. Thank Nomatter for me. Tell her. I hope God blesses her. I loved her and I showed her that I loved her,” said Nhika in the video. “I never did anything. I was hurt but I didn’t shout at her.”
In addition, Nhika said the woman thanked him for his love. He also insisted that he never lied to her.
“This is what I’m taking right now,” Nhika said as he showed the poisonous substance he was about to ingest. “I’m taking it. God bless you. God bless you Nomatter. Thank you for taking my life. God bless you. You know the truth and God knows the truth.”
Pastor Nhika was taken to the Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals after he consumed the poisonous substance, but he died there after a day. According to local reports, it was the third time he attempted to take his life.
In September last year, Limpopo pastor Letsego of Christ Embassy took his own life after he mistakenly sent photos of his private parts to his church Whatsapp group. The married minister had meant to send the pictures to his lover, who is one of his parishioners, Live Monitor reports.
What made things worse for Pastor Letsego was the caption he attached with the photos, which read “wife is away, its all yours tonight.” After realizing his mistake, he allegedly left the chat group immediately and was later found dead hanging inside his church house after 24 hours.
