It’s claimed Johannes Tomana was arrested over the state’s withdrawal of charges against two men.
HARARE – Zimbabwe’s chief prosecutor has been arrested and is expected to appear in court today.
It’s being claimed that Johannes Tomana was arrested over the state’s withdrawal of charges against two men arrested in an alleged plot to bomb President Robert Mugabe’s dairy last month.
The details around this arrest are sketchy, but it certainly has Zimbabweans talking.
The state-run Herald online is reporting that Tomana was arrested yesterday and will appear in the Harare Magistrates court today.
It’s unclear what charges he’s facing.
The Herald, citing unnamed sources, says it’s to do with the withdrawal of charges against two of the suspects arrested last month for allegedly plotting to petrol bomb the Gushungo Dairy.
The two have reportedly agreed to be state witnesses.
