Andrew Chimboza, dubbed the Cannibal Killer, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for eating Mbuyiselo Manona’s heart after he stabbed him to death last year.
A Zimbabwean cannibal who killed a man before cutting out his heart and eating it with a knife and fork has been jailed for 18 years.
Andrew Chimboza launched the horrific attack on 62-year-old Mbuyiselo Manona after a heated argument in Cape Town’s Gugulethu township, in South Africa, in June 2014, reports EyeWitness News.
The 35-year-old claimed that Manona initially attacked him because he thought he was sleeping with his girlfriend.
Chimboza retaliated by slitting his throat and repeatedly stabbing him multiple times.
He then chopped out his victim’s heart “because it was full of hatred and jealousy”, a court heard.
But he later confessed that he didn’t know why he’d eaten it.
A cop testified at his trial that he walked into the property to find the killer eating the raw human meat with the utensils.
Chimboza pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced at Western Cape High Court on Wednesday, according to Independent Online.
Judge Ashley Binns-Ward described the assault as “extremely brutal.”
