ZimTrade will this year facilitate the participation of six small to medium enterprises (SMEs) at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) set for the 25th to the 29th of April.
The SMEs which will participate at this year’s ZITF were selected from all sectors of the economy with emphasis on those ready for the export market.
In a monthly newsletter, ZimTrade chief executive officer Ms Stembile Pilime said there is need to foster sustainable business linkages which will lead to increased exports.
The selected SMEs are from the clothing and textiles, furniture, engineering as well as processed food sectors with a view to link them with potential markets.
The participants commended ZimTrade for equipping them with the requisite skills to assess their export readiness as well as identifying export opportunities.
During the trade fair, ZimTrade will conduct demonstrations on how to access and utilise online market analysis tools such as the trade map.
Export opportunities which have been identified through market surveys conducted in the region will also be disseminated.
This year’s ZITF edition will be held under the theme: ‘Harnessing Linkages For Industrial Development’.
