Zlatan Ibrahimovic blast Swedish media

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has launched a scathing attack against Swedish media, whom he believes cost him a place in the national team’s 2018 FIFA World Cup squad.

Ibrahimovic, 36, is considered the countries greatest ever footballer, as the all-time record goalscorer with 62 goal in 116 caps, along with 32 major trophies over his decorated club career.

However, the enegmatic striker who’s scored five goals in his first 10 games since joining LA Galaxy in March claims the media prevented him from a fifth major international tournament.

“The media says they are better without me so that’s why I believe in them,” he told reporters, as quoted by The Daily Mail. “This is the Swedish media mentality. I don’t have a typical Swedish name.

“I’m not the typical Swedish attitude, behaviour and that and still I have the record in the national team. I think it’s the biggest party in football, playing in the World Cup.

“All the best players are there, Zlatan is not there so… he should have been there. But he’s not there.”

“I won what I won,”  Ibrahimovic continued. “I played in Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan, PSG, Manchester United and Galaxy.

“So if you don’t know how to do it collective why did you play in the biggest teams in the world, and you won? I know how to win, trust me. And I do it good.”
